This year Wangaratta Arts Council is delighted that prolific and award winner writer Alex Miller will be the guest for the 2016 Literary Lunch. Alexander McPhee Miller lives in Castlemaine with his wife, Stephanie.
Alex Miller is twice winner of Australia's premier literary prize the Miles Franklin Award, in 1993 for The Ancestor Game and in 2003 for Journey to the Stone Country. His eleventh novel, Coal Creek, was published to wide critical acclaim in 2013 and won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award in 2014.
Alex is published internationally and widely in translation. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and a recipient of the Centenary Medal for outstanding contribution to Australian cultural life.

A delicious lunch with main course, cheese and fruit platter, tea and coffee will be served. Drinks are at guests' expense, from the bar or via table service. Vegetarian meals will be available.
