Merriwa Park
Centrally located on Ryley Street in Wangaratta and close to the city centre, Merriwa Park is one of the state's very few sunken gardens. Merriwa Park is an ideal place to have lunch, surrounded by grasslands and shady gum trees, other features include picnic area with electric BBQ's, toilets, children's play area, fernery, pond and tennis courts. Resident ducks meander throughout the Park.
Kaluna Park
Kaluna Park is a natural reserve adjoining Merriwa Park containing 3.7 ha of bushland and is the perfect place to tak e short walk in a natural environment.
Apex Park
Just over the Ovens River on Parfitt Road, Apex Park is the official start of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. It features an architecturally designed pavilion, children's playground, grassland, picnic tables, BBQ area and toilets and showers.
King George Gardens
On the corner of Ovens and Rowan Sts opposite the Wangaratta Cinema Centre in the CBD, King George Gardens are a oasis providing a cool and green haven from summer heat. The Gardens feature children's playground equipment, picnic tables, toilets and bandstand. It is the perfect place to enjoy a sandwich or treat from a nearby bakery.
Batchelor's Green
Just off Tone Road, Batchelor's Green is the home of the Wangaratta Artists' Society 'Studio'. It features a playground, grassland, picnic tables, BBQ area and toilets.
