Mullinmur Wetland comprises approximately 20 hectares of floodplain on the lower Ovens River and is located 2.5 kilometres north of the Wangaratta City Centre.
There are two walking tracks with picnic seating along the way. Access to the area is via the corner of Phillipson Street and Cambridge Drive.
The area is under management of Galen Catholic College with support of volunteers from the Wangaratta Sustainability Network (WSN) for conservation and education. WSN work with students and staff from Galen College and Borinya Community Partnership on a weekly basis.
The key wetland vegetation communities at Mullinmur Wetland include Floodplain Riparian Woodland, and Billabong Wetland Aggregate (comprising a deep freshwater marsh/wetland), which are dominated by river red gum Eucalyptus, silver wattle, black wattle, sedge, common spike-sedge, knotweed and herbs including joyweed, sneezeweed, and carpet weed.
