Cycling Around Wangaratta

We love cycling!
Whether it's a gentle pedal along one of the many shared paths throughout the CBD, mountain biking in the Warby Ovens National Park, the thrill of down hill through the Taminick Gap or taking the off-road rail trail loop to the foodie heaven called the Milawa Gourmet Region - the options are endless for the avid cyclist. The star of the show really is the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail though - it's not everyday you have what's been recognised as Australia's Premier Rail Trail actually beginning in your town!
Several local groups including the Wangaratta Bicylce Users Group (BUG's) and the Wangaratta Out & About Club welcome visitors to join their regular bike rides and bushwalks.
Murray to Mountains Rail Trail
The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is the perfect way to discover the diverse landscape of North East Victoria - from natural bushland to abundant farmland, delightful hidden valleys and some of Australia's most spectacular mountain ranges. Along the ride you'll savour some of the finest gourmet produce, renowned wines, and handcrafted beer.
Over 100 kilometres of sealed off road trails provides you with the perfect link between the already popular tourist villages of Wangaratta, Beechworth, Rutherglen and Bright. More recently the sealed off road trail network has been extended from Wangaratta to Milawa and Bright to Wandiligong - for the perfect pedal to produce adventure.
