Gayle Taylor and Serena Abbinga established Serengale Vineyard and Winery in 1999 at the foothills of the Victorian Alps in Beechworth. Serengale Vineyard is a five star Halliday Wine Companion winery and in the top ten new Wineries for 2020. The wine is sourced only from the vineyard from selected handpicked bunches using wild yeast, gentle handling, unfiltered, low intervention winemaking techniques. Gayle focuses on expressing the season, the variety and the select areas of the vineyard, to make handcrafted wines that reflect a sense of place and season. The cellar door experience is set within the winery, where you can taste wines surrounded by the ambiance of the wines maturing in the best french oak barrels, looking out over the vineyard from where it all starts. There is also an outdoor area that looks out onto the vineyard. The winery is open Saturday during Spring, Summer and Autumn and all other days by appointment, which can be made by phoning or texting or email. Cheese platters are also available but must be booked in advance. The mobile reception in the winery is not the greatest so if you could allow them a few hours in order to respond that would be great.
