Spring is the perfect time to dust off those hiking shoes and discover some of the amazing waterfalls that the region has to offer. The regions most popular waterfall Paradise Falls is located just off the beaten track, buried deep in the King Valley, but still accessible by 2WD and is true to its name… Paradise!

For the golf enthusiasts, take in a relaxed 18 holes in Wangaratta with the choice of two golf clubs, Wangaratta Golf Club and Jubilee Golf Club, which is frequently visited by kangaroos. Golfing can also be enjoyed at Tarrawingee, Whitfield and Boorhaman.

If wildflowers are more your thing, there are many parks that showcase the abundance that Spring brings, including Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park, Warby-Ovens National Park and many more.  One notable walk for the wildflower enthusiast is the Springtime Flower Walking Track which includes a long or short loop, both starting from the Killawarra Forest Camp in the Warby Ovens National Park.

If you are feeling a little bit less energetic, King Valley’s Prosecco Road is a food and wine trail for lovers of the Italian sparkling, Prosecco. Prosecco Road stretches 50 kilometres from Milawa to Oxley to Cheshunt. And for the foodies, the Milawa Gourmet Region is a culinary crossroads featuring delicious goods like goats’ cheese, homemade mustards, olives, wineries and so much more. It’s not only a fabulous food experience, but wine experience as well.

Spring school holidays are the perfect time to head to the Merriwa Park Lake, this hidden gem in the heart of the CBD becomes a hive of activity every spring school holidays as keen young anglers flock here to try their luck at catching one of the 600 advanced Rainbow Trout yearlings that are stocked here every Spring School holidays.
