Discover Wangaratta's Hidden History.

The Wangaratta Historical Society brings the stories of the region to life through guided tours that go beyond the guidebook. Led by knowledgeable local historians, the tours uncover the layered past of this remarkable community, from its deep First Nations heritage and colonial beginnings, to the industries and characters that shaped the city we know today. Whether you're a lifelong local or visiting for the first time, you'll leave with a richer understanding of what makes Wangaratta truly unique.

They currently offer two signature tours: guided walks through Wangaratta's historic CBD, and exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of the iconic Wangaratta Woollen Mills. Tours run regularly throughout the year and are open to the public, with bookings essential. Places are strictly limited to ensure an intimate, engaging experience. The Woollen Mills tours in particular sell out fast, so early booking is strongly recommended.
